Have a Drink
The selection of beers on tap and other spirits available at AT&T Park rivals that of the culinary offerings. There are the mainstream beers like Budweiser and Coors Light as well as more exclusive labels such as Red Hook and Lagunitas IPA from nearby Petaluma, and San Francisco’s Anchor Steam. There’s a tale, apocryphal maybe, that people who were in line for Anchor Steam at Candlestick Park during the 1989 World Series didn’t budge when the earthquake hit.
There are also stands where you can get mixed drinks, margaritas and California wines, and some Bailey’s to mix with your coffee on those cold nights. No one should go thirsty, but here are some things to keep in mind:
- Be prepared to shell out $7-8 per beer, which sounds criminal until you remember you’re at possibly the coolest ballpark anywhere. Besides, they’re charging about the same at every other park in the Majors.
- Unlike most parks, there are no beer vendors so be prepared to hike for your brew. Luckily, the beer stands are all over the place, so you won’t have to go far.
- Fans who pledge to be designated drivers can receive a coupon for a free soft drink, coffee or hot chocolate.
- Beer sales end after the 7th inning except for fans in the Field Club or Club lounges, who can drink until after the game ends.
