“21 minutes” is the answer. The question: “How long does it take for the parking lots around Oriole Park at Camden Yards and its mate, M&T Bank Stadium (home of the NFL Ravens) to clear after a full capacity event?”
That’s according to a study conducted by the Maryland Stadium Authority, and it’s almost certainly better than any other ballpark or stadium anywhere else. Ok, so it might take a few minutes more (or less), but either way traveling by car to Oriole Park is usually quick, easy and inexpensive by major league ballpark standards.
Here are some directions …. And finding decent, safe parking around OPCY is pretty simple, too. The lots around the stadium accommodate almost 10,000 cars, and downtown parking garages are within a short walk and charge between $5 and $10 per car.
The MTA (Maryland Transit Authority) operates light-rail service to and from OPCY. The train runs north and south from BWI/Thurgood Marshall Airport up to Hunt Valley, a northern suburb of Baltimore. And subway service will drop you within a short jaunt of the ballpark.
Baltimore is an old port city, so for the ultimate Oriole experience take this route to OPCY. Meet your party in the rollicking neighborhoods of Fells Point or Canton, where you’ll find a plethora of 20-something’s in these water-side communities. Enjoy dinner and drinks at one of the many fine taverns or restaurants in the area, and then the water taxi to Harborplace. A very scenic, historic boat ride (10 - 20 minutes) will drop you off within three blocks of OPCY.
