Bring the Kids

There’s plenty to do at Busch Stadium for the little ones. Ford Plaza, located between Gates 5 and 6 beyond the outfield, is filled with family-friendly activities. Fredbird the mascot can be seen out on the plaza posing for pictures with kids and handing out high-fives. Two hours prior to games on Sundays there are all sorts of games and contests for the kids, like stacking as many ice cream sandwiches as you can in one-minute and line-dancing with Fredbird or the team Fredbird cheerleaders.

On the inside, kids can create their own Fredbird at the Build-A-Bear factory, throw some fastballs in front of radar gun, play video games (baseball, of course), and purchase Cards-themed baseballs and bats. If it’s memorabilia you’re looking for, there’s a 50% off stand near Gate 1 that sells t-shirts, hats and other items. It might not be the latest gear, but will the kids really care?

What else can the kiddies do? Well, they can enjoy some camaraderie with fellow fans by doing “the wave.” Mom and dad may think it’s passé, but you’ll see them throwing their hands in the air with the kids when it rolls by.
