Home of the Ohio State Buckeyes
There is no place to watch a college football game like Ohio Stadium. As an Ohio State graduate, I had the opportunity to attend many Buckeye games. Averaging over 100,000 people a game, historic Ohio Stadium is one venue you will never forget. From the crazy tailgating before games to the even crazier riots afterwards, Ohio Stadium is the place to be on Saturdays in the fall. The O-H-I-O cheer is like nothing else in college athletics. Most students are severely intoxicated before the game because alcohol is not served, but none the less sneaking it in is not the hardest thing in the world to do. After enjoying an Ohio State victory, there are numerous bars around campus to celebrate. Easily one of the top venues in all of sports.
Get there early and stay late because you don't want to miss anything. I love all the traditions and the band and the tailgating, and of course the team usually kicks ass too. This place is huge so be careful where you sit... last rows of upper deck and end zone can feel like you're in the next county.
I have been going to the shoe since I was a little kid - we almost lost our little brother in the crowd on the field after a Michigan game in the late 70s. I remember Art Schlicter's first start, the USC rain-out, the LSU comeback game and, of course, all those Michigan games. The 2006 contest was the most exciting sporting event I have ever attended and I have been to a lot.
