Home of the Georgia Bulldogs
One of the quintessential venues in which to experience college football at its very best. Sanford Stadium serves as the epicenter of Bulldog Nation, steeped in tradition and history. The entire city of Athens transforms into a red-and-black clad throng of tailgating, reveling fans on gamedays. The historic Georgia campus swells with RVs and cars, and the smell of grilled goodies covers the entire area for hours before (and after) kickoff.
Alright call me bias as I'm a UGA grad, but this is a "must see, must experiance, place for a game." Heck even a fun weekend get-away on a non-football weekend in the spring is phenominal. The bar/restaurant options are endless. Bands flock to the "Classic City," as it's been known for REM, Widespread Panic, and The B52's, to name a few. I'll offer some must "hit" places in the insider information piece............As for a Gameday, it is amazing! The campus is rocking and is right off of downtown Athens. Tailgate and party with fans on North Campus. The campus is georgous and covered with girls in their sundresses and guys sporting the red polo's. Bring your "handle" of Bourbon and beer. If you run out of anything, it doesn't matter becasue the hospitality and friendliness is awesome..............Enjoy, and your walk to the game which by the way is smack dab in the middle of campus!! Yes a 90K plus stadium right in the middle of campus will ROAR!! I'm ready to tackle someone right now!! GO DAWGS!!!!!!
